Planning for Success in 2025 – Set Yourself Up for Growth

Hello, flower friends. This is Jen and you're listening to the floral hustle podcast. On this week's minisode, I want to talk about laying a path or like basically making a plan for success in 2025. And this is something that I even personally still do after the countless courses I've taken, the business coaches that I've hired, the, you know, just, Uh, podcasts and anything that you can think of educationally, I've probably participated in some level because I know that my biggest asset is my brain.

What is so fascinating to me is that that for one wasn't my motto. I thought I knew everything. I thought that I, you know, had been running a business and had been a florist for 18 years that how could I not, you know, how could I learn from anybody? Cause I've like, been doing this. I had, you know, hundreds and hundreds over thousand weddings under my belt.

Like, I felt like I really knew everything and that was really kind of narrow minded of myself, close minded of myself, because since the, I've decided that my biggest asset is my brain and one of my wisest investments is investing in my brain. So how I, I've personally invested is I've been in four different masterminds.

Uh, and if you don't, if you're not familiar with what a mastermind is, a mastermind is usually led by a person who is an expert or, you know, somebody who's inspirational or somebody who can help you in some way. They're leading a group of people who all are striving to better and The way this mastermind is delivered can be vastly different depending on the person leading the mastermind.

Uh, I've had one that we met twice a month. I've had one that we met met once a month. I've had them that we've met every single week. Uh, I think now that I think about it, I have been in four, yeah, four masterminds. Then I have been in a cohort. Uh, a cohort is a more like planned kind of shorter burst.

You're going through this cohort with a group of people and there's like a beginning and end and it's the things that you will learn in that time are very kind of like clearly defined when you sign up for it. Then, um, I have taken So many courses. So I have been in Marie Forleo's B School. I have taken her Time Genius course.

I have taken countless Passionflower Sue courses. I've been to Flowerstock. I've taken some Holly Chapel courses. I have, I mean, I could go on forever. Because I know if I get a One skill set, even if this course or this thing is like a thousand dollars and this might seem crazy to you, but I know that I am like one inch better and that is inching me towards my goals.

And that one inch looks so different from person to person, but it fundamentally means that you just want to be better because when you're fundamentally wanting to be better, you're fundamentally wanting to elevate. to really enhance the person that you're wanting to be into this next level version of yourself.

Like when I've surrounded myself with people who want to do that same thing, it has been so powerful and I've seen This power at work in my floral CEO mastermind, I decided, and actually we're almost coming up to the year anniversary of the floral CEO mastermind. And I have seen not only the power of what it's, you know, Being around people who are like minded individuals in this, in the pursuit of bigger things in their life and what surrounding yourself with that kind of energy is.

But I've seen that support, that camaraderie, that, that care, that, like, I can generally say, like, I love my mastermind girls. Like, I am, I have connected so closely with some of them that I'm, I'm super excited. A couple of them I haven't met in person yet and they're coming up to the, um, branding, the business bouquets and branding workshop.

That's in January, January 12th through the 14th and, um, coming to the installations workshop and I'm just like so excited because I just feel like I know them so well. And I mean, I see them every week and the, it is so exciting. So giving to know that you have people who are just your people and they're there to support you and they're there to, like, they, they know where you're at, because they've probably been where you're at, or maybe they see you where you're at right now, and they're there in three months from now.

And so there's just something about surrounding yourself with that energy. And, and also like. The things that people accomplish when you are in the presence of other people's momentum. I mean, there's one girl who completely booked out her, her wedding year for the next year, uh, in the span of being in the mastermind.

I mean, she went from just having a couple bookings to like pretty much being booked out for 2025. And then one girl started with like 30, 000 of revenue and I think is going to end up close to like 85 or 90 this year. And I know that doesn't sound like when you think about numbers, but that is like, she tripled her revenue, tripled her revenue.

Like, think about that. That is huge. I've had people let go of parts of their business that are no longer serving them. I've had people let go of relationships or put clearly defined boundaries with relationships so that those relationships can start feeling good. I've done tapping with my mastermind girls because not only do we meet weekly, but I meet with everybody once a month to connect on their goals.

You know, we've, we've been there to support each other in a way that I feel like is, I mean, obviously, cause I dreamed of having this space for floors for so long, but like it's created this sense of support and connection. That is just, it's so giving to me as a coach. Because I know. I, I wish I had that 10 years ago when I started this journey of wanting to become my next level self.

And right now there's actually, um, one person is kind of reevaluating and going in a different direction for next year. And then another person has been in the mastermind a year and is transitioning to just open themselves up to different opportunities. And so I have two spots, which this mastermind has been sold out for almost five months now.

And I, that seems like a really heady thing to see or to say, but it will change everything because there's momentum in groups that, that is so contagious. When somebody has success, like you just see this like domino effect of success because you're taking that energy in. And then, you know, I've also done courses, which I always think.

Like, if I lose, learn that one thing that is invaluable, but I've not just been done courses. And I think that that's one thing that I completely wish other others, especially others in the floral industry would embrace is that I've, I've taken like time effective. I've taken parenting courses. I've taken how to have better relationship courses.

I've, I mean, I have, I became a certified life. Mindset coach. I got certified in EFT. I got certified in NLP. I got certified in hypnosis, like, because I want to help people at another level. And I want to also deepen the person that I am. And if we're just superficially band aiding the surface of, you know, things that have gone wrong, things that you haven't let go of, things that.

that are standing in your way of success, like they will always be in your way and you need to start choosing. And that is part of this path of success. Like you need to choose and say, I am no longer going to be a victim to previous things that have happened to me. I am no longer available to be weighed down by all of this.

Crap from my past, I am available for success. I am available to make this year. My goal going into 2025 is to make 400 K. Like that's what I'm available for. I'm not available for things that are hard. Like I'm less available for things that don't feel good. Like I want my clients to feel better than ever.

So when you're thinking about laying out this path of success for 2025, I for one want you to step back and say, what am I doing to actually be the most successful, the happiest, the whatever is important to you version of myself? Like, what am I actually doing? Because. Because when I, I hear people bitching and complaining that, you know, all these things aren't happening for them.

And then when I step back and I go, well, what are you doing to actually change that? And it's usually not very fucking much. People are resting on their laurels of literally thinking that all these things are going to happen and hoping, but actually not putting or doing anything, not investing. I have invested so much money.

Like, I, I think if I would put a number behind, behind even a few years of looking, including this year, like, I mean, I've invested like over 75, 000 just on coaching or programs. I mean, one day with the business coach that kind of changed everything was 8, 500. I just hired a business coach that I. Um, learning so many different things, like they're not a florist business coach.

This is a like general business coach that deals with digital products and email marketing and like being a better coach, being like, and that's, I think like a 1, 500 a month investment. So like, I know when I step up to the plate, like big things happen. I know when I make investments of my thing in myself.

I have had the results commensurate to that investment, if not double or triple that investment. And so I don't even think twice. And I think with that mindset, the revenue of my business has grown exponentially because I know that if I want to do big things, like that just takes investment and that's part of being a business owner.

But I'm completely see you, if you're at a place you're like, I don't have money to invest. But, yet, you'll be doing things because you're maybe not making great choices. And, instead of investing in yourself, in your brain, in your whatever, you're investing in buying donuts, and you're investing in buying things that aren't fueling your body to be the best version of yourself.

So, You're investing of spending more time on the couch, you're investing more time on Grey's Anatomy, whatever it is. We're always investing in something and it's if you step back and you're like, what do I spend money on? What if instead of going to Starbucks this week for like the four different times I go in a week, what if I put that in a personal development fund fund?

What if I just made my coffee at home? What if I. Did something that was going to be more impactful. What if, like, unless you start going, what if, and I actually want to fucking change that you're going to be here next year, when we're going into 2026, you were going to be here. And I don't want that for you.

I want bigger things. So now is the time. And I know we're, we're about three weeks from the start of the new year. And I think any time is a, is a good time to start your journey to being your best self, but like, what are you going to do to change 2025? Like seriously step back and ask that question. What are you going to do?

What is actually going to change? What do you want to happen? Lay out some clear goals. And if you are like, I don't know, this sounds crazy. I want you to put out there in the universe, put it on social media, send me a message and tell me what your big audacious goal is so that you've put it out there and somebody knows, because once somebody knows it becomes so much more real.
