Stop Winging It: How to Turn Big Goals Into Reality

Hello, Flower Friends. It has been a busy last week, but in busy weeks, I often afterwards during my Sunday night prep, do a little reflection on like what was working, what was sort of working, what could have went better. We had the business bouquets and branding workshop here on our family farm, as well as at a local wedding venue.

And it was the first workshop here on the farm. And this had been something that I had been dreaming about you guys. I had been dreaming about this for a long, long time. And once I started to think about like, you know, I accomplished this like big thing, I thought about like how I manifested that. And then I thought about my vision board for this year, which is my screensaver, which if you don't do that, it is immensely helpful to be constantly reminded of, you know, what your targets are, what your, your goals are, what you're shooting for, and those visual cues and reminders just make you feel it just a little bit more.

It's actually something in January in the Floral CEO Mastermind that we created together, uh, so that we could share it and everybody could support and understand where everybody was kind of coming from and what they wanted to accomplish. And like also just when you see some of these visuals, I think you just get a better understanding.

And so I thought about all of the things that we're only like a, and actually a good chunk of these things I had accomplished 30% into my year. And now we're going into month five. So in a, you know, third of the year, I think I have over half of my vision board accomplished. And I mean, some of these things are things that I've been really wanting to accomplish for a while, but I just finally put some intention that I wanted to make them happen.

And I, I think that sounds really easy to do. I just put intention behind it, but really like I, I feel like manifesting is a real thing, but I am not as woo as most. I feel like there's a fine line into reality and the universe being at work. A lot of people are, get like pissed because, you know, they, they want to manifest all these big things, but it still takes work.

Making your dreams happen still takes work. And I've talked about taking big, huge goals and big, huge dreams and chunking them down into bite-sized pieces, but I also have talked about like how to take a, like really anything and build a roadmap. And so if you guys want to make your goals happen, you need to build a roadmap.

Like, what is it going to take to accomplish this? Let's just say one of my goals on this was the bo- the business bouquets and branding, um, workshop here on the farm. So what did I need to accomplish this workshop at the farm and having a workshop at a new venue that I have not been at yet? So I kind of backed into like, what would it take to make that happen?

Okay, well I have to come up with a theme and a concept because I do that for every workshop. I want to make it feel like, you know, the essence of the farm because I've, I've talked about this several times, but like our family farm is so calming you guys. There, it is so peaceful and so like, there's just this feeling here that is, uh, I, I just, it's really hard to describe other than just like peace.

And I wanted people to feel that peace. I mean, I have a couple of my freelancers, three of them, that literally drive down here and they drive twice as far as they did when I was in Bloomington because of the peace that they feel here. My part-time nanny, like, kind of goes through withdrawals from being on the farm.

And so I wanted people to feel that kind of calm and that peace because when you live in the city, it's, it's really hard to, to feel that kind of peace, um, that nature, animals, and, I mean, of course you can go to a park, you can do all those things, but like the wide open, you know, kind of country roots feel here is just, it, it's really hard to imagine that, uh, is, is possible in a city at a park.

It's just, it's totally something different, it's connective and I wanted people to feel that. So then I walked into, okay, so how could I make people feel? And so then I broke down like things that I really like to do. Like I love and I know people love baby animals. So it's like we're going to bottle feed the baby animals.

We're going to have a bonfire around our fire pit. We're going to like kind of relax and have just like charcuterie and some drinks like, and just enjoy everybody's company in a nice wide open kind of like space. And, you know, just like breaking down like all the different things that I need to happen, but then there's another layer.

Okay. If I want to have and I made a Trello board out of this, which Trello is a project management software that you can have up to 10 boards for free, and I made a board. Okay, I want to have a fire. Like what is that going to need to happen to do that on a grander scale? Okay, I'm going to need to make sure that I have enough chairs.

I'm going to need to make sure that I grab all the s'mores things. I'm going to need to, um, dig out. And so I actually dug out the fire pit of all the old ash, so we had a really nice clean fire pit. I went and got new wood. Like breaking everything down. The biggest part of people's success that we're missing and when we're trying to accomplish is like making everything so crystal clear what actually needs to happen to make that happen, that it is just like, you know, this is everything.

Then, of course, it's like the food, the flower planning, the design planning, the ... I mean, there's so many different components to that workshop that need to come together. That's the same thing when it comes to your revenue goals. That's the same thing when it comes to like you really want to accomplish a 40K event.

Like all of those things are layered in plans and part of that planning is like every Sunday night you're sitting down, you're doing your Sunday night prep, you're aligning your week, you're getting your shit together, you're getting on target to what needs to happen to move you towards your goals. If you just stay stagnant and be like, "Okay, I'm going to start tackling that next week," and you don't even know what you need to tackle, I'm telling you like your vision board is going to probably be the same next year.

So on my vision board, um, was, uh, valet sheep. And so valet sheep are a rare Swiss breed of sheep that, um, of course I think they're fucking adorable, you guys. Um, they're like a black face, really kind of tenderly. It looks like they have naturally curly hair like that, like humans have, but it's like just wiry, um, wool and, um, they have these really funky, curved, kind of curled horns.

And they're very rare because they actually never came over in an animal from Switzerland. They came over in an embryo that was implanted in a different type of sheep and that actually still happens to this day. Embryos come over and are implanted in like Scottish blackface sheep and things. And I really wanted them because they're rare and they're cute and, um, I think it would be interesting to learn about breeding them and I think it would be interesting to learn about having

I love having a baby on the farm. It's like something that happened when, so much when I was little that it just created so many memories. So there were just like steps to doing that. I researched breeders. I joined a valet sheep Facebook group, actually three of them, and then I found the breeder, then I had a conversation, then I spoke with my vet.

Then, you know, there was just like all of these different layers of, you know, learning about them, educating myself about them, researching them in my marketplace, um, finding the, uh, realistically, like, how am I even gonna accomplish this? Finding a, the breeder and understanding the pricing, looking in the Facebook group to understand the pricing, asking ChatGPT, "This is, you know, kind of what I'd like to do.

What do you think the best way for me to do that is? " And really researching all the levels, then having a conversation with my husband and really diving into what is it going to take to accomplish all of these, this, this big valet sheep dream. So to date, I now have fi- uh, let's see. I have Mr. Fluffy, Mr.

Marshmallow were the first two I got, and I have two you lambs, so that's a female, and I have a rare, spitty, um, boy who is a weather. So in this line, unless you're, uh, a, basically like a purebred ram, they make them its. And this one was so cute that I just, I had to have him. His name is Theodore. He's so cute, you guys.

And he was, you know, uh, had, had to be bottle fed for a few weeks and so I knew that hopefully he would be friendly because usually bottle feeding really makes you them friendly. And, and so now I, I have, um, because I also bought a half filet sheep, I thought it was three quarters, but I'm pretty sure it's half, at an auction as well.

And his name is Otis and he follows me around and makes me so happy. I've had him, just like my childhood, we had an animal get rejected from his mom and we were bottle feeding it and it came in the house, into my room and I threw a diaper on it and Otis followed me in the house and I just put a pull up on him and he ran around in the house and I just like felt like I had manifested this very moment that it was something that I really cherished.

I actually have a photo of when I was little and this little goat, um, was in the house with a diaper on and I, I just felt like I made that moment happen because it was so special to me when it was l- when I was little that I was going to make that happen for my children as well. So I did the research.

I figured out what it's going to take. I figured, okay, it's going to cost me, you guys use cheap or not cheap either. It's going to cost me X. Um, I'm going to have to make sure that like the vet bills and things like that because, uh, I, it just, especially in the spring, I feel like lung issues and pneumonia are like notorious.

And so one of the baby lambs that I just got, um, about a month ago, of course, has a, you know, lung issue, um, in one of her lung nodes. Then one of my baby calves had that and Petoona had that. And, and so I'm just researching even like health issues and that's how you make your, your goals happen. Like you're chipping away at them like they're in, you're making like your little ice sculpture of your life.

You're learning, you're, you're setting weekly goals by having a Sunday night prep that is keeping you accountable. You're building a plan and really understanding what it's going to take. You're not winging it. You're not half-assing it. You're, you're pushing forward every week in some way, whether that's learning, whether that's, uh, taking and, you know, figuring out how this is gonna fit in your budget, how the, how are you gonna make this happen with your time even, like from a time commitment standpoint.

There are so many things that I feel are, are just so much more doable when you make them into bite-sized pieces and I hope you can make all your 2026 dreams as bite-sized as possible so that you can chip away in them and basically step into your success. And if really upping your business in 2026 is one of your big goals, if you finally wanna stop half-assing it and just winging it based off of things that you've ... ChatGPT, do you have ChatGPT operating as your business coach?
